While red, white, and blue flags flutter in the breeze, the 4th of July is the perfect time to create memories with some backyard fun. Nothing compares to the joy of watching kids laugh and play in the backyard.
If you’re staying local this year, turn your backyard into the ultimate celebration zone! Especially with a Backyard Fun Factory playset, you’ll have everything you need for festive games, refreshing activities, and fun the whole family can enjoy.
Fruit Salad Scavenger Hunt
Send the kids on a fruity backyard mission! Hide fruits like bananas, apples, grapes, and oranges around your playset and yard. Once everything’s collected, gather in the kitchen and make a fresh fruit salad together.

Backyard Water Balloon Games Around the Playset
First things first: Fill two large baskets or bins with water balloons (self-sealing ones work best for easy prep). Now let the games begin!
1. Back-to-Back Balloon Race – Partners wedge a water balloon between their backs and race to a finish line—without dropping it!
2. Balloon Drop Guessing Game – Can a balloon survive the slide? What about a toss from the top platform? Kids guess before each drop. Score 1 point for each correct prediction!
3. Hula Hoop Target Toss – Hang a hula hoop from the playset and take turns throwing balloons through. One point for each success!
4. Bucket Target Toss – Scatter buckets with point values around the yard. Toss balloons from playset platforms to earn points based on difficulty.
5. Team Sheet Toss – Split into two teams and grab two halves of a twin sheet. Each side takes turns launching and catching water balloons. Points go to the team that successfully tosses and catches! Towel Toss – same game just used with beach towels and only 4 people.
Backyard Trivia Challenge: Test Your Stars & Stripes Smarts!
