Giving Our Toddlers a Head Start!
When you look up the best way to enhance your child’s IQ, the internet will tell you to expose your child before the age of 3 to as many words as possible. This literally enhances your child’s brain power! So, it only makes sense that exposing your toddlers to a better, more stimulating play space at a younger age will increase their level of physical growth and coordination, thus enhancing your child’s physical power!
Although children are different, and can develop at different speeds in life, the following are some of the physical things your child should be able to do by young ages according to Scholastic.
1 to 2 years old:
learning to run and walk independently
crawl upstairs
squats to pick up toys
rolls and throws a ball
2 to 3 years old:
walk up and down stairs; jump off one step
kick a ball
stand and walk on tiptoe
run; dodge
3 to 4 years old:
walk backward and forward unselfconsciously; turn and stop well
jump off low steps or objects, but find it hard to jump over objects
pump on swings, and use a bike pedal
play actively, but tire suddenly
4 to 5 years old:
skip unevenly; run well
stand on one foot for five seconds or more; master the low balance beam
alternate feet when walking down stairs; judge well when placing feet on climbing structures
have increased endurance in play
From birth to age 5, a child’s brain develops more
than at any other time in their life. It is maybe the
best time for our young children to increase
their brain power and physical skills.
Parents and Grandparents have so much fun watching our kids grow up into strong children with amazing physical skills. Their little bodies growing almost by the minute. Physical activities that children enjoy will increase their confidence and ability to move well. And starting the younger the better, using gross motor and fine motor skills will enhance their abilities!
Backyard Fun Factory has added the Toddler Set to its line of redwood playsets. We started with a custom design for one of the newest members of the BFF Family, and have developed the set in such a way for it to grow along with your little ones. We have incorporated a variety of elements to support and encourage toddler growth and development, and to have a ton of fun WITH them in the process! Call us today to find out more!
