Great Fall Ideas for Fun in your Backyard
The Fall season is the perfect time to head outdoors for the kids. With the cooler temperatures and all the fall leaves flowing around its a magical time as the world switches over to Fall. Get those kids out in your backyard to adventure and play!
Here is a great list of things to do for Fall in your backyard.
1. Pinecone/Apple Bird Feeder – Make a pine cone bird feeder for a backyard tree or your playset! You will only need a bit of Twine, Peanut Butter, Birdseed and a Pinecone. Cover the pinecone with peanut butter then birdseed and hang it in a tree or your playset. To use an Apple just make thick slices then make a hole in the middle of the slice for a cord. Cover the slice with peanut butter and then birdseed hang it on a rope or cord then hang it in a tree or your playset. (Keep in mind that the birds might poop while eating so careful where you hang your Bird Feeders!)
2. Soapy Water Wash – Outdoor toys and back porches always get dirty over the summer. Get a bucket of soapy water and a rag and let them wash their toys and outdoor furniture! Hey listen, make it fun. It doesn’t have to be perfect. This is a fun activity but it also teaches them in a fun way how great it feels to clean something and make it look shiny! Besides, what kid doesn’t love soapy water? And maybe after Mom has some special cookies for them!

3. Make a Book Nook – Let the kids experience the fun of reading outdoors. You just need a couple of soft cushions or chair to sit on, and a place to keep the books like a tub with a lid that is waterproof. A corner of your porch or a playset fort are great places for a Book Nook. A place where your child can comfortably sit and cozy up to a good book to enjoy while breathing in the sweet cool air of the fall season.
4. Fall Picture Fun – Let’s decorate a picture with Fall items in your backyard. Lets the kids find leaves, rocks, sticks etc in your backyard to decorate a photo they want for their room. Mom, put all those photos you have in your phone to good use. Print out some photos the kids want to decorate and put in their room. You’ll need some glue and maybe a glue stick gun. (make sure there is some room around the picture to glue some items on to)

5. Backyard Flashlight Scavenger Hunt – Fall is a great time for a flashlight scavenger hunt. Take some items outside and hide them. You can get some fun fall items at the dollar store to hide or just pick random items in the house you won’t mind hiding. It’s great to make a list of the items to find and have them come up and check that item off the list before heading out to find another item. Just wait until it’s dark then send the kids out in the backyard with a flashlight for some adventurous fun!
