Plan a Virtual Birthday Party

Well with this coronavirus and the required “social distancing” it has made birthday parties a thing of the past (for now).  If you have a friend or family member that will be celebrating their birthday during this “lock down” here are some ideas we came up with to help make them feel special.

• The easiest and most common way to connect would be to schedule a chat (virtual party) through Google, Facebook, Skype… there are many other apps out there that can do this as well.  Just select a date and time for everyone to log in and have the “virtual party”.
• We came across this cool app called VidHug.  It’s allows you to create a video montage of family & friends to be able to send to that special birthday boy or girl.  It is very simple to use.  It cost $15 and you just send the link out to everyone.  They simply click the link and record a birthday message from their smart device or computer.  It’s like sending a virtual hug no matter the distance.
• There is another fun app called GooseChase which you can create a virtual scavenger hunt.  This would be a fun activity to do that would allow a little competition between friends.  You can personalize it specific for your birthday boy or girl.  You can create teams or have them create their own team.  Just a fun virtual activity to do during your party or throughout the entire day.

Fun is Our Middle Name

• Sending a birthday cake in a jar or cupcakes to each person invited to your virtual party.  You could all sing Happy Birthday and eat cake together even when you are apart!  You could do the work in advance and make your own cake jars/ cupcakes or find a local bakery that can deliver.
• If your invitees are local to you you could create “party boxes” for them to decorate or wear.  You could load them with things like birthday hats, noise makers, confetti and the cupcake/cake in a jar.  During the party they could decorate their space for the party.
