Mom’s Dream Becomes Reality
A message line. It is really fun to be a part of your family’s dreams for your backyard and our favorite thing to do is making those dreams come to life. Recently, we had a mom ask if we could create something for her kids to be able send messages back and forth from one fort to another. We love inquires like these!
Message line
Once an idea is presented to us we work together as a team to create the safest and most effective “toy” we possibly can. For this project in particular, we had to consider all things kids would want to do with this message line. As adults you would think that they would only send and receive messages, but when you think like a child you would quickly realize that they will want to send any and everything possible back and forth. So when designing this feature we had consider that they will possibly want transport items of different weights and heights.

Fun is Our Middle Name
We used a pulley system with rope so the kids could manually move the items back and forth. One issue we addressed was the height and weight issue. The best way to do this, in our opinion was to enclose the pulley system inside a PVC pipe. We then created a capsule to hold all the items for transport. This does a couple things, it keeps the children from messing with the pulleys and it keeps a size minimum for items that will be transported. Once this was attached to the fort we installed springs to the end of the pulley to keep constant tension on the pulley itself. This tension will help with ease of transportation of items for the kids. Check out this video to see the finished product in action.
