If you, like myself, have taken the time to do these super fun activities with your kids you have found yourself with an overabundance of BORAX! These little projects call for such a small amount of borax, but the box you had to buy was at least 65oz. Well, I found some other uses for it (in the attempt to use up my large supply) that have come in very handy. There are lots of websites out there that offer many other ways to use this product, but these are a few that I particularly liked and thought I would use.
Carpet Cleaning – Add ½ C of borax per gallon of water to the reservoir of your carpet shampooer.
Pest Control – Sprinkle equal parts of borax and sugar anywhere you suspect pests like ants, waterbugs or roaches may be coming inside.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner – Pour 1 Cup of borax into the toilet bowl at night before you go to sleep. In the morning, give the toilet a good scrub with the toilet brush and flush.
Goo Gone Remover – Mix borax and water in a 2-to-1 ratio, then rub the mixture on the gooey spot.
Who knows maybe I will start putting it on my usual grocery list.
Happy Monday!
